Childbirth preparation classes may prepare you for the miracle of birth but not always the reality of life. A postpartum doula can ease feelings of apprehension and uncertainty and will address your questions and concerns. It is for these reasons that new families value the help a postpartum doula offers.
As your postpartum doula, I am a neutral, non-judgmental third party, with a quiet presence in your home giving quality, non-intrusive, in-home services for new parents including physical, emotional, and educational support according to the wishes and needs of the family.
I will enable you to recover from pregnancy and birth and focus your energy on bonding with your new baby. I help parents and older children integrate the baby into the family in a loving, gentle manner.
My role as your doula is to provide education, non-judgmental support and companionship, and to assist with newborn care and family adjustment.
Breast or bottle? Whatever your decision I offer postpartum infant feeding support.
As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I am trained to help you address breastfeeding issues that can arise. Although breastfeeding is natural, it is not necessarily instinctual. As a Lactation Counselor, I offer a broad range of services, which include everything from teaching a new mom how to position her baby on the breast to giving her tips on how to increase her milk supply or handle a breast infection. Even months into breast-feeding, moms who want help finding a good pump or figuring out the nursing implications of starting their babies on solid foods can benefit from a home visit.
